How to Do It Yourself for the Greenest Bermudagrass on Your Street!
Bermuda grass height should be .75” to 1.5” ideally but many lawncare companies cut at 3” to 4” because it’s easier and faster to mow. Most residential lawns are unlevel and full of low spots and ruts making it difficult to mow really low. If you don’t mow low then this will cause green growth at the top and brown below which is not good. You can tell your lawn service to cut it as low as they can get it or just do it yourself. You can always level your lawn with a potting mix soil and play sand mix (50/50 mix) which will help you mow the grass lower. You only want slightly longer grass in the winter when the grass has gone dormant.
