Post-Emergent: BioAdvanced All-In-One Lawn Weed and Crabgrass Killer

Where do you get it? #

BioAdvanced (Bayer Advanced) 704140 All-In-One Lawn Weed and Crabgrass Killer Garden Herbicide, 32-Ounce

Why should you buy it? #

You should buy the Southern Ag Amine 24-D Weed Killer, White Bottle over this for the reasons explained here. It works well but is more expensive in the long run. It may seem inexpensive but can only cover up to 6,250 sq ft so you are better off getting the 2,4-D Amine instead which can cover much more area and will last longer for you. Only buy the BioAdvanced if that is all that is available to you or the Southern Ag is out of stock.

The active ingredient is “2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D)”  which is the same as in the Southern Ag. It claims to kill over 200 types of weeds which is what the Southern Ag can do as well. Please note this has all the same precautions we covered in the Southern Ag description including the stunting of Bermuda grass growth and how it works as almost a growth regulator for your grass.

Here is how the bottle looks:

Here are some close ups of the label:

Rear label. Notice the toxicity to fish and aquatic animals warning message. This is because of the 2,4-D content.

How do you use it? #

Mix it in a sprayer and spot treat using all the same precautions we talk about here for the Southern Ag. Again, it will stunt Bermuda grass growth so you do not want to spray this all over your lawn.

Here are the common weeds it will kill:

Clover and Dandelion weeds
Crabgrass and Chickweed weeds

Make sure you only apply it when the temperatures are below 90 degrees F. If you are spot treating, you don’t have to worry as much about burning your Bermuda grass by accident:

Sprayer instructions, again don’t use a lawn sprayer. Use the pump sprayer we recommend and spot treat to avoid stunting your Bermuda grass growth.

Use the pump style tank, DO NOT use a hose end sprayer and spray your whole Bermuda grass lawn!

Here are the directions that are on the inside parts of the front label:
